ShipShape Update
Patch Notes – Shipshape Update
This update brings several major improvements to maritime gameplay, along with balance changes and fixes related to navigation, boat construction, and naval scientists.
1. Day / Night Cycle Extension
The day cycle has been adjusted to give players more time to perform activities.
- Day duration has been increased by approximately 20 minutes.
- Night duration remains unchanged (around 10 minutes).
This change gives players more time for:
- resource farming
- building
- raiding
- map exploration
Night combat still remains useful for PvP strategies and infiltration.
2. Boat Construction System Improvements
Boat editing changes
Items placed on boats can now be modified more freely.
- Blocks can be rotated at any time.
- Elements can be demolished immediately.
- No need to wait 5 minutes after placement anymore.
This allows faster correction of building mistakes and more flexible boat design.
Fix for buoy obstruction
- Small buoys at diving sites no longer block large boats.
- Sea navigation is now smoother.
Sail destruction bug fix
An issue could previously cause sails to be destroyed after placement.
This was caused by:
- rotating the sail after placement
- slightly invalid positioning on the boat
- the Groundwatch system incorrectly removing the object
The system now correctly detects sails.
Steering wheel improvement
- The “Deploy & Edit steering wheel” option is now always visible.
- If placement is invalid, an error message is displayed.
This prevents confusion during construction.
3. Deep Sea Zone Changes
Loot rebalancing
- 70% of loot is available at launch.
- The remaining loot spawns gradually over time.
This is designed to prevent early rushes and encourage longer engagements.
Random spawn location
- The Deep Sea zone now appears on a random side of the map.
This makes movement strategies less predictable.
Delayed activation
- The zone can no longer open immediately after a server wipe.
This prevents large clans from instantly accessing endgame loot.
Vehicle restriction
- RHIBs can no longer enter the Deep Sea zone.
Opening notification
- A global sound is played when the Deep Sea zone becomes available.
Increased render distance
- Boat render distance increased from 300m to 620m.
Boats are now visible from much farther away at sea.
4. New Naval Construction Station
Each Deep Sea island now features a station for interacting with boats.
Boat Building Station
- Allows boat repairs.
- Allows modification of boat structures.
- Allows construction of new components.
Assisted docking system
- The station has a slight magnetic force.
- It gently pulls boats in when their engine is off.
This makes docking easier.
5. Naval Scientist Improvements
Smoke-blocked vision
- Scientists can no longer see through smoke grenades.
This system may later be extended to bushes.
Armor correction
A long-standing bug previously reduced armor effectiveness against naval scientists.
| Armor | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Hazmat | 5% | 30% |
| Full Metal | 25% | 50% |
These changes currently apply only to Naval Scientists.
Combat rebalancing
- Scientists now hit targets more consistently.
- Each shot deals less damage.
This results in a more gradual health decrease, giving players more time to react.
Equipment improvements
- Flashlights added.
- Lasers added to weapons.
This makes nighttime combat more dynamic.
Long-range AI improvements
- Scientists now react to gunshot sounds.
- They reposition more frequently during combat.
These improvements may be extended to other scientists in the future.
Overall update goals
- Improve maritime gameplay.
- Make Deep Sea events more dynamic.
- Modernize scientist AI behavior.
